    Being Proactive with vomiting

Nope not a single one. This was more just being proactive in the event it did happen.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

I had the same issue, follow Bernstein approach like yourself, which they already don't like for the usual reasons i.e thinking nutritional ketosis is the same as DKA. Please do DM me, would like to connect with UK based T1's who manage it with Bernsteins approach!

    Being Proactive with vomiting

Has anyone Uk based been able to get their GP prescribe Zofran (or anything similar) to be proactive with vomit episodes? Any ideas would be welcomed, even as alternatives.

    Blood Glucometer Accuracy (brands)

I currently have the following blood glucometers: - Freestyle neo opium - Accucheck - 4SURE Curious as to what everyone finds to be the most accurate? Seems like I appear to get higher readings on 4SURE compared to accucheck and the freestyle is closer to accucheck readings.

    Diabetic Eye Screening - Results

Thanks for the response! When googling This result it seems to suggest the left eye is ‘better’ than normal. That’s surprises me! Maybe I’ve just read it completely wrong

    Diabetic Eye Screening - Results

Hi All, I haven't been able to catchup with my doctor but have just seen my DIS results below: Visual Acuity Left Eye 6/5 Right Eye 6/6 Final Grade : R0MO Guess the good news is that there are no signs of DR but wondered if anyone knew anything further in terms of the acuity and what the...

Dr Bernsteins Low Carb diet and UK Insulins

Thanks for the info - very interesting to see you managing with fiasp and dosing 2 hours post meal. My idea is that on low carb, i rise very slowly so i can afford to let it rise and then allow my novorapid to kick in once the protein starts to break down into sugar. This is why I take the shot...

    Honeymoon Period vs No Honeymoon

Because I feel like right now, i'm able to manage my blood sugars with minimal insulin and it's not up and down. Appreciate it's probably different for everyone as needs might change drastically from time to time.

    Honeymoon Period vs No Honeymoon

Is there anything you did to 'prolong' the honeymoon period? 8 years is a lot. I'm hoping (provided I have any, not sure yet) to preserve as much as it as possible.

    Honeymoon Period vs No Honeymoon

All very interesting! As you say it appears this condition is extremely individualised. Noted on the different aspects to Tresiba and Levemir, thing i'm personally more likely to split Levemir twice a day as I begin to incorporate gymming into my routine soon and might need that flexibilty!

    Honeymoon Period vs No Honeymoon

Thats all great insight, so thank you for this. My why is i'm curious just how much extra Insulin I might need as I fear the challenge will be higher insulin = more chance of hypos occurring, even with the low carb diet i'm on. As Antje says, it's all very individual but my ideal would be to...

    Honeymoon Period vs No Honeymoon

Great do you mind me asking how your basal insulin changed when you got out of honeymoon i.e from initially what the amount of units was to what it is now ? Appreciate you said it changes daily but curious just how much extra you needed. Also noticed in your profile you use Tresiba. I only...

    Honeymoon Period vs No Honeymoon

Hi all. Was just curious the transition coming out of the so called 'Honeymoon' phase. A) How your insuin requirements changed B) How much more difficult was the condition to manage? I ask this as whilst I haven't done a C-Peptide test to determine how much insulin my pancreas is making, I'm...

    Good time in range

Thats interesting the pumps aim on avoiding hypos - as you say, maybe not the best if you are wanting tighter control. I'm currently taking 12 units lantus before bed and 1 unit novorapid before meals, so believe i may well be in a honeymoon period, but this could also be attributed to my very...
