    Contacting PALS over blood strips

I don't blame you! I get four boxes of strips a month too and that's no where near enough! I test more as thats the only way to keep good control and yet they don't give out enough strips to do this! Its really stupid! Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Tattoos

My bloods have always stayed stable during my tattoo's, although they have usually only lasted 30-45 mins. Just take extra care of your new tattoo as i've had two infected tattoo's, good luck! :) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Family Guy & Diabetes Jokes!

Re: Family Guy & Diabetes Jokes! I'm only expressing my opinion of the jokes on the show... Just because it is a cartoon doesn't mean some of the jokes are acceptable. I'm standing up for diabetics who agree it's not right to make such bad jokes about diabetes. I'm not saying i haven't laughed...

    Family Guy & Diabetes Jokes!

I agree with both your points, just for me i'm quite sensitive to diabetes jokes for the fact diabetes has been quite hard to live with ect. Although life's too short and if you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at :) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Ketones in non diabetic children ?

I think testing his ketones again is a good idea, if they go dark purple i would take him to a doctor cos for a non diabetic to have that many ketones it's quite strange. Good luck, hope he gets better soon! :) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Struggling....

I had a similar problem with my sugars on the morning.. They could be between 5-7 and i wouldn't eat then hours later they would be 14-17. My nurse said its because of wake up hormones and said even if i didn't eat breakfast i'm best off taking a few units of insulin to cover the hormones. As...
