Victoza- does it get any better?

I’ve had to stop Victoza again because my liver enzymes have gone bonkers. They are not sure if it is the cause. I had a scan yesterday (waiting on results) but in the meantime my glucose levels have risen again.

    Type 2 Raised Liver enzymes

No I’m not on statins - I had them a long while ago but they increase muscle and joint pain so they were stopped and marked on my notes as not suitable. I have another condition that can affect the liver. I also take methotrexate 10mg weekly. So could be the methotrexate or the other...

    Type 2 Raised Liver enzymes

Thank you. I will have a chat with her, she had noted that they were abnormal but expected - which I wasn’t too sure about. But it makes sense. When diagnosed the biggest thing I had to cut down on was fruit - I’ve gone from 5 to 6 piece a day to maximum of 2. I also have an appointment...

Victoza- does it get any better?

I have since discovered that the D&V was a nasty bug and not the Victoza.

    Type 2 Raised Liver enzymes

Hi everyone, Does anyone know if raised ALT and GGT are specific to diabetes? Recently diagnosed with T2 steroid induced and was very hyperglycaemic. I’m pretty much under control with medication and diet. However my recent blood test this week reveals my ALT at 400 and GGT at 207 plus serum...

Victoza- does it get any better?

GeePei I’m currently on Victoza (newly diagnosed 5 weeks ago T2 steroid induced) along with Metformin - it was OK for the first week, then I had bouts of D&V every third day. But for over a week I’ve had D&V so bad that I’m dehydrated. Plus I have these awful bad egg burps and chronic wind - my...

    Type 2 "Specialist Diabetic Nurse"

I have a very supportive GP who specialises in diabetes so very fortunate. I’m only recently diagnosed T2 steroid induced. However I am disillusioned with the specialist diabetic nurses. I feel they totally lack understanding, well over the phone that’s how it seems. I’ve have a appointment on...

    Blurred Vision

Thank you! Well that’s not the first time I’ve been called ‘complex’ lol. The steroids have been given for the sarcoid. The joint pain and swelling etc is connected with sarcoid. I’ve had one hypo when my readings were 3.9 so I ate cereal with a spoon of sugar, 20 minutes later I was 7.8...
