LondonAndy

Diagnosed as a type 1 in 1996 at age 31 (hospitalised for 11 days), but reclassified as a type 2 in 2011 but still injecting. Trying to lose weight - down about 35kg so far.

Had a blocked heart valve in 2014 (age 48) due to calcification - an issue that causes problems in diabetics at a younger age than the general population. So now got a mechanical heart valve and a bonus item due to surgical complications: a pacemaker!

Happy disposition, naughty sense of humour, professional guy in a job that can be stressful but fun too.
