Hi
I've been trying to follow a low carb diet and was doing really well until I went out for a meal with some non diabetic friends last night!
They persuaded me that one meal of naughtyness would not hurt! How wrong could they be!! lol
I went to the harvester and had piri piri chicken kebabs...
Hi
I'm currently taking 2 x 80mg gliclazide a day but my bs levels never seem to stabilise. They swing from being around the 4.5 mark all the way up to 16.
How long should it take for medication to kick in and is this tablet likely to do it by itself?
I'm watching my carb intake and am...
Hi
This happened to me a few weeks ago. I ended up bleeding for 2 weeks but the doctors wouldnt believe it was the Metformin. I have just had my meds changed to gliclazide and surprise surprise the bleeding stopped!!
I was on the depo injection too, and as you will know that stops you...
Thanks for your replies.
I must admit that things have gone to pot today and I havent tested my BS since this morning so will go and do that in a min. I had a lot of kidney infections when I was younger so I;m hoping that its not gonna cause me problems now!!

I've been on the Metformin for about 2 months now and all of a sudden I'm bleeding and have been for over a...
Hi
I've posted before about being on metformin but i'm seeing a lot of posts that people are starting on 1 a day and then being worked up to a higher dose. I've started on 4 x 500 a day which according to the leaflet is the maximum dose. Is this normal or does this explain why my stomach was so...
Spoke to the diabetic nurse tonight and i dont have a kidney infection. She has also changed my prescription over to the slow release metformin so hopefully that should help the stomach issues - although I actually bought 3 air fresheners today to deal with the wind!! lol
Hi
I was diagnosed T2 about 3 weeks ago. I had a blood test that came back with a level of 10 but was then left to my own devices for 10 days because that was the earliest I could get an appointment with the diabetic nurse. Just before my appointment I ended up having to go to the out of hours...
