My wife was thinking of buying some Bournville dark chocolate for an occasional treat for me over Christmas. Any opinions based on personal experience?
A couple of weeks with slight weight gain and then this week three kilos lost. Doctor still happy.
I don’t know whether this was caused by my diabetes or the Ozempic but I had a fairly lacklustre week or two, with little energy or enthusiasm. A blood test showed iron deficiency and so a couple...
Rather an up and down few weeks which I put down to moving house and settling in. My Internal Medicine specialist had various tests done and recommended an iron infusion. With some trepidation i agreed and - my goodness - what an improvement. Energy levels up, and “brain fog” cleared and a...
Well, moving house in the middle of a Cypriot summer, brought about some weight loss. It has taken three days to find out how to switch on our induction hob …
Friday 5th September: 79.5kg
Up and down the last few days with bouts of diarrhoea. I can’t decide whether this is a flare up of my microscopic colitis or a side effect of the Ozempic. In any event it’s all passed now. Weight dropped to 82.8kg, which feels controlled and reasonable. General health - I’ve never felt better...
Something of a surprise this week - after three months of 0.25mg doses, my doctor has decided I should move straight to 1.0mg. I suspect the recent blood tests I have had have informed that decision. It was slightly nerve wracking as the 1.0mg pen is bigger and chunkier. But no discomfort and I...
Life got a bit busy late last week, and although I injected I did not weigh myself. Still on 0.25mg dose and weighed in today at 86.3kg - which is a weight loss of 20kg. Having to work hard to eat enough but managing - and still enjoying my food. Blood sugar is easily on target as well. I’m...
I trusted one of these “smart” watches. When the paramedics arrived at 05.00, and saved my life as I was suffering a severe hypoglycaemic episode, they and the doctors treating me said “throw it in the bin.” Total guesswork backed up by an algorithm or two gives a false reading almost every time.
Thursday 19th June
Another Thursday, another injection. This was my seventh 0.25mg injection, one more 0.25mg and then onto 0.5mg.
This week’s loss was 1.7kg, which takes me down to 88kg. No more side effects and next week’s full blood test will reveal all.
Some exciting news from Cyprus this morning. I called in to see my Internal Medicine specialist - so she could check my progress. My last of the first 0.25mg doses of Ozempic is due tomorrow. My doctor thinks I am losing weight a little bit too rapidly, and has decided to keep me on the lowest...
I’ve been on a good diet for some time, and was gradually losing weight but the blood sugar levels were difficult to control. All my diabetic medication was stopped after the near-fatal hypoglycaemic event. Metformin, Diamicron and Trajenta were all stopped for a while. My doctor then asked to...
Well the side effects disappeared after three days.
i injected this morning and it was as easy as you like (especially for someone who hates needles as much as I do). I didn’t feel a thing.
i have decided to weigh myself once a week. This morning I have lost 2.3kg since last week’s injection...
Famous last words regarding side effects. Eight visits to the bathroom in three hours, with virulent diarrhoea. Ouch! A couple of Vacontil redressed the balance. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
