Hello you clever chap, i am full of admiration and i dont underestimate your will power. I am on the same journey although still on 10 units of insulin a day. can i ask you has your medic ever said wether your pancreas is still producing insulin, my one doc said yes and another said no. Just...
My diet is ok low carb and no added sugar, but the main contributer is Bydureon which I started March 2015. Now my insulin doest seem to work at all unless I have missed something, so a bit confused and frustrated.
Over the last 13 months I have been reducing my insulin usage. March 2015 my dose was 158 units of Humalog 50 twice a day. I worked with my GP and using Bydureon one weekly I have lost over 4 and a half stone. My GP has now retired and I currently take 10 - 12 units a day. The plan is to come...
Hiya yes had the same expereince, a very weak dose of bicarbonate of soda works for me. the tip of a teaspoon in half a tumbler of water, hope it works for you.
I doo pay attention to a low carb diet and got sort of 50/50 responce. the appetite repression with Bydureon made it easier, not very hungry most of the time. Insulin is responsible for us putting on weight and the combination of the two seems to work for me.
Your medications are on a par with mine, i agree it feels like a minefield. I am 68 and not a spring chicken either but want to be. I was on Humalog 50 x 158 twice a day. Currently on 20 twice a day and hoping to be off insulin in the next few ? weeks. Have you heard about insulin resistance.

I have been on Bydureon for 7 months and have lost 3 stone plus, it hasnt been an easy ride but the weight loss seems to be doing the trick for me. i am also on a reducing dose of insulin. Hope to be off insulin within the next couple of months, my gp made the plan !
