    quick question

Are you on a pump or multiple injections? How much insulin have you taken? I'm on a pump so I can take my insulin over a longer period of time. What can happen is the insulin becomes ineffective if given in one dose if you eat carbs at a higher amount. If you are injecting, try splitting the...

Help please! Diabetes and cortisone steroid

Thanks Catherine, it's slowly getting better now, but an absolute nightmare when I eat anything. It is so strange that I have never had this problem before. Thank you very much again! Matt Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Help please! Diabetes and cortisone steroid

I have had 5 operations on my shoulder in the last 9 months and 3 of them were MUA with steroid injection. My last was also an MUA with steroid but this time my sugars have reacted really badly and are extremely hard to bring down and manage. Can anyone tell me how long I should expect this to...

    Flying with an insulin pump

If I were you I'd see if your doctor will give you a letter detailing what it is and why you need it. To be honest, they didn't make a fuss in UK but abroad it may help. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Does anyone experience the same or anything wildly different

I've just woken to a hypo of 2.8mmol (now treated!) but.... I usually have had really bizarre dreams when I wake that I either; a) Really never want again as it was horrible and scarred the hell out of me. Or b) Was so funny/ intriguing or really off the wall that I want to get back to sleep...

    Flying with an insulin pump

That is right Weeezer, it will damage it if you put it in the scanner. When I last travelled, all airport staff were fine after I showed my dr's note. Some of the foreign inspectors were a little less well versed in why it couldn't go in the scanner, but on the whole all ok! Sent from the...

    Cold and low blood sugars

Yes very true, my old Dr always said 'you must be mistaken, it is not possible for colds to make your sugar go low' but I recorded my blood readings and showed him. It is really weird, I also find working on a computer for long periods does the same thing! Weird! Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Cold and low blood sugars

I get the same thing, I find that if I just take paracetamol for a cold, my sugars usually go lower. I have no idea why, but if I'm ill and don't take any medicines that could make my sugars high, my sugars usually end up staying lower. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Frozen shoulder??

I'm going back to hospital for a consultation on Thursday, I suspect that from an examination by another consultant and my physio, I may have impingement syndrome. Has anyone or is anyone on here suffering the same thing? If so, what treatment did you have and how long does a recovery take. I...

    Frozen shoulder??

Thanks all, I think I know a little more of what I could possibly expect now. I had an MUA in November but it hasn't worked very well. I have also had 3 steroids too, that last being at the point of the MUA. I just really want my movement back, as it has really knocked my confidence after the...

    Frozen shoulder??

I've just seen a specialist working for my solicitor after a terrible car accident last July. I have now been told I have a damaged rotator cuff, which is why my movement and pain hasn't got any better! But also my shoulder is still partially frozen, it seems never ending. Have any of you guys...
