Good luck! :) you'll get there and remember you are allowed the odd 'off day' to let your hair down and have a treat! I really do think the Lutein works! x :D
Hi Fraser,
I am also type 1, I am 27 and was diagnosed at 18.
3 years ago I had my routine retinal eye screening and was told I had a slight bleed in my right eye - diabetic changes. I was told to come back in 6 months to get it re checked as sometimes it can clear up by itself.
It can...
This looks really positive. My doctor is testing my thyroid too as she said a lot of diabetics that put weight on easily have thyroid problems - eek! I hope not, another thing to add to the list :? I will try and get on one of those courses as I am forever pumping the same amount of insulin...
Aurlito - do you have to pay for all of your insulin etc? I take Novorapid and Levemir at night. Do you have the 3ml penfill cartridges that you draw from with a syringe? If so do you know the laws on posting medical equipment to your country? I could try and send you a couple of insulin...
Just read this again - was so annoyed that I didnt take it all in - you being diabetic should be ashamed of what you said, we are all entitled to our own opinion but you should never publish something like that on a forum, it is so offensive! I am a type 1 diabetic and DO plan of having my own...
Aurlito - how narrow minded. Like others have said, you dont have to be married to have a baby, not all married couples want children, some couples cant have a child naturally and what business is it of yours anyway! It's personal choice! My friend's father was born with spina bifida and was...
Hi, ive not heard of that course before. I just do a set amount of insulin each meal time and every night. I am going on a carb counting course at the hospital, not sure if its the same as the DAFNE one? Sounds like it will be a good idea for me, thanks for your advice. :D

Sorry just read all the other posts - that's well worth knowing, my dad is type 2 and its well controlled with Metformin, he was so upset when they told him out right that it was a no, I shall give him the good news!! :D
Yes as a diabetic - type 1 or 2 you are not allowed to donate blood. I used to be a blood donor until I was diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic 8 years ago. If you are diabetic and it is diet controlled only then you are allowed only once a year I was told? :?
[color=#BF00BF]I am a type 1 diabetic, I was diagnosed when I was 19, im 27 in a few days. My problem is as soon as I was admitted to hospital I put 1 stone in weight on in the week I was there and another 5 stone since. I used to go to they gym for 2 hours a day but I went down to 1 hour and...
