Hi,
Type 1 diabetic for 32 years.
Had some scary teenage years whilst in denial, but sorted myself out and have been back on track since 2000. HBA1c always under 7% or around 52 in the new figures.
I have used an insulin pump since 2000 and it changed my life, however, I still struggle with spikes in BS and I have off days just like anyone else.
I suffer with painful neuropathy on and off, as a result of a severe B12 deficiency which went undiagnosed in my early 20's. I seem to have a real sensitive nerve system and many things cause it to flare up. Currently not taking any meds for it tho, so happy days
I have 2 grown up healthy children and I work in social research. I also have full body vitiligo so I am quite the expert with fake tans.
I would love to meet / chat with other diabetics who have a 'can do' attitude and still enjoy life despite the obvious!
