Thank you all for the information. When I was in the hospital they all said I was type 1. However when I saw the Consultant 4 months after he said he did not know what I was and it did not matter as I was on insulin and would have to stay on it. I hate the smell of the insulin as well.

Hi, At the end of August 2017 I was rushed off to hospital with Ketoacidosis. I was then put on a drip and given insulin. Until then I did not have diabetes (that I know of). I am now on 4 shots of insulin a day - 3 of Novo Rapid before meals and Lantus. Has anyone else experienced anything...

I totally agree, why don't people use hankies and had gel.
