I am type one Diabetic, who had been diagnosed in October 2020, right after I had COVID first time.
It is type 1, I had c peptides and anti insulin antibodies done.
Together with Type 1 diabetes I had been diagnosed with Autoimmune Atrophic Gastritis which is incurable disease and I don't know what to do about it.
50% of people, who have Autoimmune atrophic gastritis, also have Thyroid antibodies. So, we will have to test for this as well.
I might have other, undiagnosed autoimmune diseases and I will talk to my physician to see if I get tested.
My A1c in Oct was 13.8
I started insulin right away. And metformin. Long insulin- Lantus -70 / 72 units per day, Short insulin - Novolog - 4 to 5 units before each meal.
I started "no carbs" diet right after I got diagnosed.
Before I was diagnosed I was not eating sugar for at least 11 years.
I did not eat starches.
I didn't eat pasta, bread, potatoes.
I had never had fast food. I did not drink soda or juices for at least a decade.
Yet, 13.8 at first blood test.
