    Numbness in hands

I'm recently diagnosed. My numbers have settled and I'm about 80% in range with no major lows. I'm struggling with numbness in my hands especially my right. Wakes me several times a night and is noticeable when I'm driving. I've mentioned it to the DN but she didn't seem concerned. It does seem...

    Good time in range

Sorry no I haven't made this clear. I have 76%in range 24% just out of range (10-13) and 1% very high (over 13). I would really like to say below 7 but I've been told this is unrealistic. Guessing it's baby steps.

    Good time in range

I am looking at lowering my HBA1c I am 5 weeks into diagnosis. No honeymoon period [emoji17] I've gone from 25% in range and 36% high. I'm now 75% in range with only 1% high. So pleased I'm making headway. (Some days things just don't seem to work but more better days then bad). My question is...

    Meal spikes

Thanks Juicyj, I have tried to relaxed a little and accept it. For the last 2 days I've been in range for an average 75% of the day so I'm taking that as a win. [emoji3526]

    Meal spikes

Thank you everyone for your replies. I am tracking before meal , carbs, I sulin and after 2 hours. But also noting if it's still rising or falling. I've found a walk after I've eaten really helps bring it down. I'm still learning and taking each day as it comes.

    Meal spikes

Can I ask you very knowledgeable people about how long it should take for my food spikes to return to pre meal levels? Should it be within 2 hours or the full 4 hours that the insulin lasts?

    Libra sensor changing reading

Hi, I use a Libra but I've noticed a few times it shows me a reading. I grab my insulin and check again before injecting to find the figure has dropped. For example it showed me I'd been up around 10.8 for 15 mins before my lunch. When I checked after working out my carbs my it says 8.4. and no...

No control over blood glucose - hormones out of control?

My cortisol level is tested as a day curve. I go in to the day unit and have bloods taken ever hour for 8 hours. I have Addisons Disease so do not produce cortisol. My brother's was done as spit tests. Seems a sensible thing to get checked.

    Newly diagnosed and struggling

Thank you for such an information filled reply. I hope you are enjoying your new job. I have changed my profile. I'd completely forgotten that information was on there. I have started logging the different meals. I've been using the same ratio for each meal. So this will be interesting to see...

    Newly diagnosed and struggling

Hi, I can't believe how difficult this is! I'm carb counting and I'm gaining a better understanding of my ratios but need to work out how they change throughout the day. I've been low carb for 8 years ( was diagnosed Type 2 and with low carb controlled blood sugar, now diagnosed with slow on set...

    Driving licence

Hi, new to type 1, I've informed DVLA and they want to change my license to a medical license that needs renewing every 3 years. Is this typical? Do I have to just accept it?
