How long does it take to really lower your blood glucose on keto?

I think I'm losing weight. I've avoided the scale for so long as I found it so discouraging. But if my doctor's reading from September is to be believed, I've lost around a stone. Will be tracking it frequently going forward.

How long does it take to really lower your blood glucose on keto?

I was diagnosed with T2D a month ago, and have been on keto for three weeks. My blood sugar has dropped from 10-12 to 7s and 8s, but obviously I'm keen to get it down into the 5s, if not the high 4s. How long does it usually take to get there? I'm anxious about living with high blood sugar...

    Ketones low, blood sugar high

Yes I've only just started recording my blood glucose. The nurse actually told me not to bother as he was more concerned with my ketosis making me unwell. I'm actually feeling pretty horrendous at the moment. I feel like I'm getting what might be a false hypo every afternoon. Right now I have a...

    Ketones low, blood sugar high

Hi. I'm just over a week into a keto diet after my T2D diagnosis. Oddly despite eating strictly, my ketones this morning and this afternoon have been around 0.2 - 0.3 mmol/l. I would have expected and hoped them to be within the optimal range of 0.5 - 3.0, which they were a few days ago. My...

Newly diagnosed and on keto - worried about ketones / blood sugar

I'd rather not be an interesting type of diabetic! I am only a week into treatment and a week into keto so I guess it's too early to see any real results? Mainly meat and eggs to be honest. I tend to go animal food-heavy. Had a couple of burgers with keto bread buns, and a few fat bombs I...

Newly diagnosed and on keto - worried about ketones / blood sugar

Thanks for this, and I just watched your video on DietDoctor earlier today - great stuff! I did take a reading when I was feeling awful and it was high - about 15 mmol/litre - so no idea if that would be a false hypo. Feeling better now though. Some Googling has suggested that too high and too...

Newly diagnosed and on keto - worried about ketones / blood sugar

I was diagnosed with T2D a couple of weeks ago. I've met with a diabetes nurse twice who has put me onto metformin. At the moment I'm on 500mg in the morning only, working up to 500mg in the evening as well. My first instinct was to get onto a ketogenic diet, as I have had success with this in...
