Hi all,
I am 42f and was diagnosed out of the blue in July this year as T2 with an hbA1c of 107. I had no symptoms other than a toe wound that wasn't healing well, my BMI was normal but I do have a family history of T2.
I am the sort of person that takes this kind of thing VERY seriously so I...
I got a blister in march, it got infected and I got cellulitis. It just didn't heal fully, kept having a slight opening now and again that would bleed. I saw the podiatrist in June who referred me to the GP for an a1c test. I am also hyper mobile so they do think it was impacted by that as well.
Thank you! Your achievement is huge as well, and I know how much work it takes. Fingers crossed for our futures and enjoy your canary island holiday soon
Oh this is disappointing! It's hard I guess when the person you see doesn't understand your history and the progress made. A number of 47 wouldn't be something they would be so excited about if they didn't understand where I was a few months ago. I was glad they made the effort to encourage me...
Good point! I have continually told them how much the self funding of CGMs has helped me with this, I learned SO MUCH that I wouldn't have known otherwise
Coming back to add that I had an unscheduled call from my DNS, she said she was still getting her jaw off the floor at my results she said in 20 years of practice that she has never seen a drop this quickly on Metformin and diet. Feels good to have that kind of interaction
Thank you so much! Your comment has made my week :) it really was hard work but the monitoring with CGMs was a real breakthrough for me - seeing real time the impact each food type had on me really helped me learn and stay motivated. And this group has been great as well! Thanks again for your...
Hi all, I wanted to come back and share an update as I just this morning received my 3 month repeat hbA1c results :)
Just a brief summary so far - I am 42f, was tested in July on the advice of a podiatrist because I had a toe wound that wasn't healing. I had no other symptoms and my BMI was...
Hi all, I noticed the past couple of months I have started suffering from hypnogogic hallucinations at night again. I wake my husband up at least once a night to tell him about people I can see in our bedroom, or I just start telling/screaming. The onset coincides with me being put on Metformin...
Hi! I think I posted separately about my journey since this initial post. Everything is going really well, the key has been self funding the sensors. With 1 month of data it shows my average BG is now 6.7 and my predicted hbA1c is 44. This has been achieved through hard work on my diet and...
