    Type 1'stars R Us

Hi Kitedoc, I manage my exercise/insulin as well as i can. The main issue has been too many hypo's probably as direct result of the volume/type of exercise and even though that's my background i still feel like i'm learning all the time what works and what doesn't! Regarding the urine...it's...

Hi Alison, no loss of hair on calves and i'd probably say i'm the average hairy leg guy...enough to show i've got hairs but not gorilla style! Don't wear skinny jeans purely because of the shape of my legs due to years of biking. I'm not concerned as it's been an issue from day one and no-one...

My thoughts exactly...will see what they say...if they tell me it's deformed though it may 'involuntary' kick them!

Afternoon All, Been away for a long weekend in the North York moors area and signal was pretty poor if not non-existent which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Anyhow, 7.8 this morning. So, i've had my review this morning. HBA1c was 63 which i'm not overly excited about but pretty much...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all... 7.0 this morning...not surprised though, mild hypo during the early hours and as i get up for work at 5.30 didn't fancy staying up for half an hour or so to retest...all is back to normal now albeit with a couple of bags under my eyes haha!

Hahaha...i did look at other options but thought 'sweetness', 'enjoyment', 'pleasure' were maybe not appropriate!

What blood glucose level triggers your hypo's?

I am actually considering a CGM as i think it would benefit me greatly. I'll be discussing it when i have my review next week and look at costings etc.

    Most annoying things about Diabetes

At the moment i'm with Aviva. Most insurance companies have the online section where you disclose what you've got and i can't remember if they had one or i rang up and added it. I usually go for the full year as oppose to the 'one trip' policy and last year i paid about £90 which included my...

    Most annoying things about Diabetes

I would like to think that it wasn't 'forbidden' but if we indulge in something we fancy then we prepare for it i.e. more insulin if it's a sugar treat. But, raising this point has helped me think of ANOTHER annoying thing about having diabetes and that is being told by a non-diabetic that i...

    Most annoying things about Diabetes

It can feel like that at times...i can go through periods like that all the time and it can be quite frustrating. Just find something you enjoy doing then the rest will be a bonus :)

    Most annoying things about Diabetes

You've actually just helped remind me of the most annoying about being a diabetic and that is being put on a 3 year review for my driving license! They don't take your management into consideration at all. Although i don't find the travel insurance a major problem...doesn't add much to my premium..

Think I might add a positive benefit... Or not to some...chocolate tastes so much better during a hypo! Not the correct way to correct... But boy does it taste good!
