Gradually introduce more positive little changes and one day you look back...

    Strange feeling.....

I'm not familiar with the injections you are having but before I was diagnosed i had similar but weidiest of all was feeling like my hands or arms were on fire inside under the skin. I had nerve tests as was told it could be early stages of carpal tunnel syndrome or nerve damage caused by...

    Sick :(

Someone mentioned adding ground almond to hot choc for those on low carbs to give them a boost and I tried it and love it. Also, I found mixing yogurts with any favourite fruit etc is easier to take - I think I prefer it to icecream now. Bear in mind what yogurt you use as some have too much...

    Slow Release Metformin

I got swapped to the slow release after having a severe reaction to the normal met. My chemist has the 'horse tablets' and I was on them at first but now has moved me to 2 other brands which are smaller - I didn't ask they just change their supplier themselves so you could ask at the chemist and...

    Eye Screening

Hi I've just had my first diabetes eye test and the optician was very clear that all was normal but not to panic if I get an oddly worded letter from the eye clinic or GP as the standard letters are weirdly worded in her opinion. The eye clinic will check her verdict and write to me so can...

I can`t believe the way some people abuse themselves !!!!

Re: I can`t believe the way some people abuse themselves !!! Could be he hasn't been advised about the issues by his GP practice - I am amazed by the differences across local GPs and people I know with type 2. He may hhave had selective hearing when diagnosed. Or he is in denial some folks...

Grace I too was diagnosed in August and just had my results too - told excellent management with 5.8 / 40 results for Hba1c everything else was good too (although I have to repeat chloresterol tests as I hadn't fasted). I too found this forum an enormous help in the vacuum that followed...

    Blood tests query

Hba1c was 5.8 / 40 big smiles all round and last year it was 5.9 now wondering if they were too fast to medicate me! Chloresterol was a up but I hadn't fasted so have to repeat that in a few months and kidneys working no probs. I was congratulated on my management :D

Don't involve yourself in the blame game.

Grace & Viv you are my heroes for putting the moron straight - have to admit as a newly diagnosed diab I felt quite depressed over all the media attacks on lifestyles - it is incredibly judgemental - I think education is a huge part of this and if proper nutrition was taught at schools everyone...

Blood Glucose Monitors - which one?

I have just posted on another thread I have compared One Touch Ultra with the SD Code Free last few weeks and the OTU was lower on every occasion - I checked with manufacturer of the OTU and they assure me all correct - I have yet to double check the SD one with that company. Will keep you...

Don't involve yourself in the blame game.

Folks have you seen the latest news story from a Tory GP who wants all diabetes patients to pay for all treatment? I will see if I can find the link - it is quite an evil push to demonise people with the condition. I was horrified. :O
