I’m a retired Phlebotomist who worked for the N.H.S for many years. Also worked for a G.P surgery before that.
I’m disabled now due to a spinal fusion which left me hard to do things for myself, (so my husband is my full time carer) disabled and also in chronic pain.
I’ve been married for over 35yrs and we have 4 children plus 3 stepchildren, 11 grandchildren , plus another 12 step grandchildren……. So a total of……. 23 grandchildren . very expensive for Christmas and Birthdays lol.
My life changed overnight, after my spinal fusion, which left me with a shell of my old self, and in chronic pain.
I am now a totally different person (because of the spinal fusion not helping me but making things worse) but has now come to learn there is life after bad things happen. It’s out of your control for things to always go right or wrong. So now I have to look at the good things in my life, the positives and also try to enjoy what I can do now in my new life. It’s taken me nearly 14yrs to come to terms with my life. But I can start to enjoy life again on my good days and rest on my bad days.
I’ve been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes since 2022 and still learning about this.
