    New to this

I couldn't cope without bread, or toast at least! If you freeze your bread (slice it first!), then toast - it changes the molecular structure of the bread to create a resistant carb rather than glucose inducing, with the bonus of it taking longer for your body to digest and process so you feel...

    Winning!

I know posts like this crop up regularly, but it seems right to report successes! I was diagnosed type 2 in June, no meds and no blood monitoring, just told to look at my diet. I joined diabetes.co.uk immediately and adopted LCHF straight away. My Hba1c was 52. Today, 12kg and over a dress size...

    Feeling Very Low

I was diagnosed type 2 a few months back. I did strict LCHF for four weeks too kick out the cravings. Now I keep nice bread frozen for the odd slice of toast and a couple of tubs of oppo ice cream for the times I really want a treat (which isn't often these days). I also found it helpful to...

    Ketogenic Clinic

I'm sorry you feel disappointed, making and sticking to you changes is tough enough without other health challenges. You're reaching out now, which is really positive. As far as I can ascertain, there are not Keto clinics or hospitals in the UK. There are private weight loss retreats you could...

    Packed Lunch Box

Ha, I didn't even think to check, I've used it as a substitute for pasta and rice and done well - but I guess that's down to how much lower it is than pasta /rice. Thanks for pointing that out. N

    Packed Lunch Box

Quinoa? I sometimes cook quinoa with roasted veg and chuck in feta cheese or meat of some kind. Its lovely cold and more substantial than leaves.

    Amazing Recipe Site

Desperately failed at steering clear of bread this last week and determined to get back to LCHF / keto this week, with just a fortnight until my next Hba1c. I was looking for keto recipes and came across this site, it's got so many helpful recipes for substitutes for things like bread & pastry...

    What Bread To Eat?!

Have you seen The Truth About Carbs? It was on iplayer. Freezing and the toasting the bread changes the molecular structure so it becomes a resistant carb that's slow burning and feeds the gut, I've found it's fine for me. Everyone is different, so maybe try this with one of their low gi rolls...

    What Bread To Eat?!

I buy low Gi cob loaf from Lidl. Slice it and keep it in the freezer. Freezing it seems to improve the gi impact even more. I probably get through a loaf a fortnight, as still a carb.

    Camping Help!

Well, I'm back and overall feeling quite smug about how I managed. Over the two weeks I did cheat a bit: three plain croissants (tasted like heaven!), one savoury filled crepe, two macaroons, a very thin crust fresh pizza and probably half a small load of sourdough bread (mainly as a vessel for...

Effect On Blood Sugar Levels After Stopping Contraceptive Pill

@lyndsayob I'm type 2 so probably won't react the same way, but here's hoping X

Effect On Blood Sugar Levels After Stopping Contraceptive Pill

No idea, but if this is a 'thing' I look forward to stopping the pill!

    Scan Dates-confused (t2 Idd)

I'm no medic, or expert but really try not to worry. Dates vary so much, mine were moved twice with my first child and I knew exactly which day we did the deed, there are so many variables. Relax, take care of yourself and rest as much as you can. X
