That's what diabetic doctor told me is I have LADA. Not seen dietician yet but I've read stuff on university hospital Sussex web site and 150g is enough apparently. Unfortunately I panicked and went to under 100g and caused hypo with gluclazide. I'm now up to 150g cho daily and upping the...
Hi, I've recently been diagnosed with Lada after a c peptide test. Originally diagnosed TE 28 years ago. Currently being treated with Metformin and Gliclazide.
Hba1c mid 40s. 40mg Gliclazide breakfast and dinner. Lost 4kg in 4 months. Levels go above 10 mmol/L for an hour or two. Sometimes up...
Hi.
I'm T2 on Gliclazide, Metformin and atorvastatin training in gym for sub 2hr half marathon in may and a 5k of between 25mins and 25:20. I start training at 8mol/l and use the lucozade sport low cal lemon lime for 60min slow to moderate treadmill runs. Also high five zero sugar electrolyte...
Thanks for your thoughts Bubbleblower. I'll get a look at the Dexcom. It's so ironic that in order to run at 12kph and get a 25min 5km I have to run at 90% MHR! Which puts BG up to 20mm/l then if I run under 80% for 30mins right down to 5.5 again before dinner. Wish I'd started running earlier...
Many thanks for taking the time to provide that info Doug. Lots of good tips in there for me and about the tech stuff. Much appreciated. Cheers Doug. I use milk or orange juice for 'threshold' runs on treadmill just now. I understand running with HR about 80% of max for my age can result in...
Hi all. Any amateur runners out there that have tried Continuous Glucose Monitors and have T2 with meds Metformin and Gliclazide?
Can you share your experiences of these and perhaps recommend one?
I am training for 5km which I've done before but want to be the fastest I can be. Last race I was...
Hi Debbie. I get that too sometimes and was puzzled. Saw something recently that said if you run or train with your heart rate more than 85% of MHR for your age then that can happen as you are no longer running aerobically. So I take from that we must train at lower intensity for longer rather...
Than you loving life. T2 is a completely different animal to T1 but I've managed to find some useful stuff on the website you provided relating to T2 as well and that will absolutely help and give me stuff to ask GP about as well. So thanks again.
Hi.
Just looking for any tips on control and fuelling when amateur running when on Metformin and Gliclazide please. I am 54 and training for a 5km and a half marathon. Obv need glucose drink in backpack bladder for the latter. If running the 5km in 25 mins (fastest I could hope to run!) any...
