well here's my update, diagnosed in may last year, hba1c was 54, shifted 2.5st and now it's 42!!! BP back down and cholesterol too, no more meds, another stone and hba1c should be normal, very pleased with myself
Carbs are limited on ww anyway, higher points but I don't find that bread etc affects my blood sugars tbh, baked beans did when I last ate those tho, I'm happy with what I am eating as blood sugars are down
Diagnosed type 2 last year, hba1c 54, joined weight watchers end oct and now 2st 5lb lighter! Bp medication gone, statins gone and after losing one stone hba1c was 48 so I hope next month i will have bloods done and hope I am diabetic in remission
Not everyone struggles with bread etc, i had seed toast for breakfast, ham salad for lunch with berries and greek yogurt then fajitas for tea, a juicy pear, mango and raspberries and my blood sugar is lower than it was yesterday, i dont find that bread is a problem with blood sugars. What i will...
Thankyou, i am still checking my sugar to see which foods are spiking me but the pre meal readings are now in the 5s and i feel good, diabetic nurse appointment tomorrow.
Just discussed this with one of the GPs and it's difficult to lower sugars but also not too much red meat and so on-basically a little of everything is better! But the increase of fats such as butter and cream he wasn't to keen on from a cholesterol point of view! All a catch 22 in my opinion
I have just been to a cancer conference and have info in front of me saying not too eat too much red meat as they increase the bowel cancer and prostate cancer!!!
