    Eye Injections

Hi, I’ve been having injections in both eyes for several years. Originally LucentIs more recently Eylea. I’ve always had some soreness, floaters etc for a day or two afterwards, but this last time it was dreadful, I couldn’t even open my eyes. Even now a week later I still have some sensitivity...

    Paracetamol

My GP recommended I take both paracetamol and ibuprofen the only over the counter medications I have been strongly advised not to take are sinus relievers as I have been told these will affect insulin absorption.

    cruise ship chefs

I have been on cruises and also many " normal" holidays, I have always found a good variety of food, lots of salad and fruit, fish, chicken and cheeses. At breakfast loads of choice from cereals to full English, bread, cheese, cold meats and goodness only knows what else, I am always surprised...

    Morning Highs?

This is brilliant (sorry folks) I also have ridiculously high BG most mornings, it settles by lunch and is generally fine for the rest of the day but it worries me, on the rare occasion I get up and have a "good" reading I am positively jubilant, I have done the 3am tests and all is well, my DSN...

    insulin passports

I've been given one and to be honest I think they are pretty useless, I already carry a card with my condition on it, I also have my NHS exemption card with my personal details on, the info that comes with the passport gives examples of patients being given the wrong type of insulin from the...

    Smoking

I smoke too! > stands back to avoid the rotten tomatoes being pelted at me < I find you meet some fantastic people when you pop out for a "quickie" but, that's it, I smoke, I don't rob banks, take hard drugs, mug old ladies, vandalise bus shelters or kick dogs!

    Corn

Ouch!!! Go see the chiropodist they will sort it out for you, don't attempt to remove it yourself or use corn pads or plasters as these are impregnated with chemicals to burn away the corn or dissolve it, show your feet some love and let a professional deal with it. Good luck :)

HBA1c, decimal or " old money"

Just curious looking through many posts there seems to be an obsession with converting HBA1c results from the new measure to the old, why? The new measure is an honest account of how much glucose has "stuck" to red blood cells over a 3 month period, it is the measure used by our Doctors, DSNs...
