    Really confused and lost!

Whatever it is, they should find it but from my own experience, it can take time as frustrating as that can be for you. If a creatinine test for GFR was in the normal range just 6 weeks ago, chances are that is not your issue then. I went through a similar experience as yourself and one point I...

    Vegetarian and Low carbing

I have only just started using it in salad dressings and like yourself, I haven't yet noticed a spike from it but have seen so many people claim that it does, I had to question. Whether or not those people are just pushing an anti oil agenda, or are even diabetic themselves, I have not yet...

    Really confused and lost!

One thing I would do in your position, is have your doctor take a blood test for your Kidney creatinine level. Could be anything, I am not a doctor but am familiar with CKD and you have what appears to be, a few more than some of the symptoms. That doesn't mean that it is CKD but unfortunately...

    Vegetarian and Low carbing

Where do you all sit with oil? I am somewhat new to oils in salad dressings, but I keep reading some people saying that olive oil heightens their BS numbers. I've never heard this until recently until the popularity of whole plant based diets but not sure if I just missed it earlier or not?

Difference between Glucose Fasting & Hemoglobin A1C/Total Hemoglobin

Thank you for all of your help. I have saved all of this information and will better understand it the more I read. At least now I have an idea of where I need to be, that I didnt before today. A great place to start and NO statins from this point onward!!!!!

Difference between Glucose Fasting & Hemoglobin A1C/Total Hemoglobin

No I didnt but to be honest I am just seeing numbers in front of me and have not yet sorted out what they mean. All the information about diabetes was as confusing at the beginning as well. Thanks for that piece of information as I am certainly not going to be taking any more statins at least...

Difference between Glucose Fasting & Hemoglobin A1C/Total Hemoglobin

Well, I believe I am going to stick to 7 days of net carbs under 20, so tighten up where I need to, not take the statins and see where this leaves me on both next months test and the one 3 months later. I think that will give me a better idea at that time what might be going on.

Difference between Glucose Fasting & Hemoglobin A1C/Total Hemoglobin

I see your A1C numbers but was curious about the HDL Cholesterol number if that was indeed the set that bluetit1802 was referring to when speaking of mine. Edit: Never mind, I see them now. Could only see the A1C before it expanded. Still a bit unsure of this. I see your Trigs as 1.0 but...

Difference between Glucose Fasting & Hemoglobin A1C/Total Hemoglobin

One last question as I am not positive which one you are pointing towards. Do you mean the number for HDL Cholesterol, mine being 0.92? If so, I'd be curious what your number might be, as well as bulkbikers at your last reading, if handy just for comparison's sake. Thank you. Last but not...

Difference between Glucose Fasting & Hemoglobin A1C/Total Hemoglobin

Yes, I did fast for 12 hours beforehand. Carbs. Hmm. I am pretty strict about carbs and generally stay under 20g a day for carbs but as mentioned earlier, I have been cheating with a bit of quinoa as of late. I have been staying under 20g net carbs daily for about 6 months but perhaps 2 days...

Difference between Glucose Fasting & Hemoglobin A1C/Total Hemoglobin

Ok, here goes. Looking at the two tests, one from April, before I took the statins, until 3 weeks ago when the numbers are indeed lower. Without knowledge of what these numbers mean, at this point I haven't any idea whether this statin is indeed necessary or not. And/or what I must be eating...

Will post them in 1-2 hours when I am home and have them at hand. Thank you

Difference between Glucose Fasting & Hemoglobin A1C/Total Hemoglobin

I am not at home now but will look further into my numbers when I am. I am in my mid 50s and a couple of years ago I started to develop a slight reddish colouring around my lower legs. Just above the ankles. As if that area has had a few hours of sun and has developed a slight pinkish hue. I...

Difference between Glucose Fasting & Hemoglobin A1C/Total Hemoglobin

Not really, other than to imply that even if cholesterol is low enough today not to be concerned with it, that without statins, as a diabetic our cholesterol levels will eventually be high enough to be problematic, therefore its a precautionary pill. I had been prescribed them two years earlier...

Difference between Glucose Fasting & Hemoglobin A1C/Total Hemoglobin

I would be more inclined to believe it could be the statins doing so, if that is possible for it is the only real change I have made these past few months. Yes, I have indulged in quinoa but not to a great degree. I was aware that it might have my A1C creep up a bit but certainly not to the...
