Newly diagnosed type 2, on 3rd March '17 with BS of 40.5. Now on 4units insulin a day and 120mg Gliclazide. I'm hoping to get off Insulin over the next week or so?

Had double lung transplant at Christmas 2004 for COPD emphysema, due to Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. I understand that Metformin and my anti-rejection meds are contra-indicated - too much strain on my already overburdened kidneys.

Have kept very well since Tx but had 3 year period of high BS about 4 years ago when I went on Gliclazide and diet control and then stabilised and came off all meds for diabetes till this present diagnoses.
