I made gold from used test-strips!

OK. So I only caught two people. Or three if you count @Brunneria who modded this. Fools Gold, anyone?

I made gold from used test-strips!

With plenty of time on my hands this week I tried something I read about - getting tiny quantities of gold from old mobile phones. A few attempts ( more error than trial), I ended up with a tiny dot of possibly good quality gold. Enough for a stud or a small tooth cap? I won't give the exact...

Diabetic nurse opinion on corona risk

This is completely unnecessary scare-mongering, backed up with a flimsy premise and debatable interpretation of statistics. Edited by moderator to remove personal attack

    Jukebox for International Women's Day

It's been a great effort. It's also hard to check through the previous 70-odd songs! But I don't think anyone has had Martha my dear, by the Beatles.

    Dark chocolate

I'm with @Thomas the Tank and the Lidl JD Gross bars. I crept upwards from 75%, to 85%, then 90%. That proved to be too much for me, so I'm back down to 85%. I have to be disciplined and break a single square off before returning the pack to the fridge. If the whole pack follows me to the...

    Buttery Cauliflower mash recipe.

@KathyFrance I first went to Vienne at the age of fourteen. My host family's father was a manager in the as-yet unknown Yoplait factory. I've enjoyed watching them become a household name in the UK since then.

    Buttery Cauliflower mash recipe.

OK. I am willing to give it a go. I'm not completely sold on cauliflower rice yet. It's OK- but... On a related note, I topped a cottage pie with leftover cauli cheese last week. Better than a swede topping!

    Is Stevia ok ?

My current favourite is Greek yoghurt with extra cream, vanilla extract and sweetener. I intend to churn and freeze this for "ice-cream", when the sun returns.

    Is Stevia ok ?

I occasionally like a pudding. There, I've said it. I had a Christmas Panetone and turned it into a really nice bread-and-butter pudding. To make the custard, I used a sweetener (Stevia). This didn't offend the tastebuds of my family and I was able to indulge in a sliver without any BS dramas.
