    Diet in S.E.Asia

That sounds like hard work. I was so happy when my blood test came back at 38 mmol and my G.P commented on the NHS app " no concerns". Now I'm not so sure reading your reply. I don't understand these A-one C numbers or what CKD three is. I guess I'll have to try and watch what I eat and get...

    Diet in S.E.Asia

Hi all of you experts out there. I recently had a blood test to show my glucose level has come down from 43 mmol to 38 mmol so I am no longer considered pre diabetic So, my question is about how to keep it under control. We are off to Thailand soon for 2 months. For breakfast I normally have...

T2 or NAFLD? ...or, a funny thing happened on the way to the surgery

Wow there is so much information to soak up here. I guess I'm lucky I was diagnosed pre diabetic 8 months ago and managed to bring it under control by diet. But now, after reading all these comments, I realize I felt a bit complacent when I got my results that said ' BG 38 mmol, no concern' I...

Glucose levels gone down , how careful should I be now?

No I just assumed sugar intake was much worse than carbohydrates. I'm learning all the time. If I'm honest I got no input from my G.P. at all except " cut down on sugar" So anyway I'm glad I joined this forum to get advice from those who know. Thanks for your feedback.

Oh and by the way we went out walking around 5 days a week. So 5 chocolate bars a week.

Glucose levels gone down , how careful should I be now?

Thanks for your feedback. I must admit when I got my results my first thought was - I don't need to worry any more. But now in the cold light of day ( and the temptations of Christmas is over!) I realize I must carry on watching what I eat and increasing protein and fats even more. Before...

Glucose levels gone down , how careful should I be now?

A blood test back in April revealed my mmol level was 43. I was told I must cut out sugar and carbohydrates. I've spent from then until Christmas eve watching everything I eat , despite not wanting to loose weight. In fact needing to gain weight as my BMI is low (16) I had a blood test on...

Hi I'm new here and can't figure out my way around. When I try to reply to an answer to a post I'd put on it wouldn't accept it and said I must have done three posts before I post a link. Either that or it was spam. It was just a simple thank you to someone who'd responded It said to contact...

Reading of 43 mmol is this a worry

Thanks for this information , it backs up what I read about today. My concern was that eggs cheese and dairy would send my cholesterol levels up but I read today in actual fact these foods don't and that full fat Greek yoghurt is better for you than low fat. It's so confusing. I will...

Reading of 43 mmol is this a worry

Back in April a blood test showed I had a blood sugar level of 43 mmol. Apparently looking back on my records it was also that reading in 2010. No one ever told me. Now I get many texts and emails from my GP surgery telling me to lose weight and cut out sugar and carbs. However my weight is only...
