Rolling my eyes a little as I didn't particularly want to talk about looping, I was answering @eventhorizon who asked me a direct question and then you challenged me, continuing the discussion. I too use the Libre with xDrip as mentioned in my first post. Anyway, I won't be following this thread...
BBC have a section on this - this video made me very sad.

P.S. I'm an immunosuppressed person, but you wouldn't know it to look at me. I'm reliant on herd immunity and thankful to everyone who takes up their vaccines.
The problem is that the Libre is factory calibrated. My experience of the Libre is that it can be very inaccurate at times and that could be dangerous in a closed-loop system. I wouldn't do it. Having said that, many people clearly are, and Libre2 may change my position.
I refer you again to...
It's not possible to loop with the Medtronic 640g on any DIY loop as it doesn't accept remote basal rate changes. There is a limited remote bolus function from the linked Contour Next 2.4 meter, but no-one has cracked this. In any case, it would require entirely different (and unwritten!)...
It's not possible to DIY loop with one of the 600-series Medtronic pumps. Check the link below for more information.

Furthermore, the Libre is not really considered accurate enough for looping.
You can use Medtronic's Smart...

As above. Join the 'Nightscout for Medtronic' Facebook group for support.
Also, you can use Tidepool to upload it all so you can see all of your data in one place and run reports etc. Tidepool has an uploader of it's own (works on a PC)...
I have recently got a 640g, I used to have an Animas Vibe like the poster above. The contract runs out next year and I'm hoping for a newer Medtronic or a Tandem T-Slim.
Anyway ,I have found the 640g has several useful features the Vibe didn't have - more basal profiles, preset temp basals...
Hello, I am normally short-sighted but became temporarily long-sighted when I had undiagnosed type 1 and for some time after. It cleared up after about a month. I decided not to drive during that time and waited until I got my eyes tested again.
OP try not to be too hard on yourself. Many T1s go through a stage like this in their teens (sadly). There is an element of luck around susceptibility to complications too. I've had T1 for 12 years, have always had very good control with low hba1c and high time in range, I've never smoked and...
You can build a DIY closed-loop with either the Combo or the Insight, if you think this is something that might interest you.
I have a Medtronic 640g and before that an Animas Vibe so sadly can't comment myself on the individual pumps. Any pump is better than no pump though, in my opinion :-)
Are you not diabetic yourself then? I'm confused by you talking about 'actual diabetics'.
Many of the differences you're talking about are tiny - 0.7 mmol out or, showing 3.6 when you're 4.0 - and suggest the sensor is performing fairly well. Every glucose sensor or blood glucose meter has a...
