Fed up of all thing’s diabetic

I don't know why I said I was diagnosed 25 years ago, it was 45 years. To be fair I had just put my eye drops and my sight was fuzzy. ☹️

Fed up of all thing’s diabetic

Oh Abigail, I'm so sorry to hear how you are feeling. I was also diagnosed 25 years ago on Christmas eve. I was an adult in my late twenties when I was diagnosed. Your consultant doesn't sound at all helpful, or dare I say knowledgeable. I don't know of any type 1 who is only on 2 injections a...

Fed up of all thing’s diabetic

I remember those horrible syringes and needles well. Testing your urine for sugar in that little test tube was another delight. I was diagnosed 45 years ago on Christmas eve. The modern tech makes life a lot easier.

    Type 1 Dexcom v Libre

This is interesting for me.i have been using Libre for many years. When my consultant agreed to a closed loop I asked for a Dexcom but Cambridge wouldn't find it. I've been having more and more problems with my Libre 2 Plus not connecting with my Omnipod. I was told by the helpline today that I...

CGM - Where do you wear yours ?

I am finding this interesting, I wanted Dexcom because of the variety of sites it could be placed, but Cambridge would only fund the Libre 2 plus. I am 72 and have trouble/pain with both my shoulders and find it difficult placing the Libre on the back of my arms and the Omnipod in sight of it...

Are more people getting Type 1 in their late twenties and early thirties?

I was diagnosed type one on Christmas Eve 1980. I'd been very busy at work and under quite a lot of stress but I don't think that was the trigger. I had been experiencing the classic symptoms of hyperglycemia for several weeks. Extreme weight loss, unquenchable thirst tiredness. Life with type...

Type 1 Insulin appears to have stopped working

I think the suggestion to ring 111 is a good one. Unfortunately it isn't a brilliant service but a friend of mine with a very poorly 80 year old husband got an excellent service and the doctor stayed on the line whilst she took his blood pressure etc. Good luck and keep strong. I also think it's...

Omnipod 5 and Libre 2 plus closed loop system and compatible Android phones.

Thank Richard F you for this. I had been looking for a phone compatible with Dexcom and Omnipod. I even discussed with the Omnipod rep about needing a new phone. Then Cambridge stopped awarding Dexcom and I've got the Libre 2 plus. It was whilst talking to an American Omnipod adviser that I...

Omnipod 5 and Libre 2 plus closed loop system and compatible Android phones.

I've finally got funding for the Omnipod 5 and Libre 2 Plus closed loop system. I'm looking to buy a new android phone and the Samsung Galaxy S23 is compatible. Is anybody out there successfully using that combination?? Thank you.

Cambridge health authority not following closed loop guidelines for adults with disabling hypos.

Hi everyone, Thank you for your responses. I have now discovered, but this is hearsay, that Cambridge are no longer issuing Dexcoms with closed loops to anybody. The Libre 2 plus is cheaper. They are still issuing Omnipod 5. My new diabetes nurse has ordered an Omnipod 5 for me to see what...

Cambridge health authority not following closed loop guidelines for adults with disabling hypos.

I know several people using the Omnipod/Dexcom closed loop in Peterborough. I am not aware of them being offered any other closed loop systems.
