I am totally against giving children a vegan diet because I'm sure that there are some nutrients which cannot be gained from even a vegetarian diet. When my eldest was small you could buy a vegetarian...

I'll have a look at the Diet Doctor site. I went down the shake and soup route mainly for ease. If I have to think too much then I'll end up giving up as I'm always so busy and then feel too...
Think I'm missing the foods I loved. I've lost a lot of weight- around a stone and a half.
I had scrambled eggs this morning and an omelette for lunch. I've never eaten so many eggs. I ditched the shakes on Sunday but have no idea what to eat instead so keep eating eggs and vegetable soup.
Although I was diagnosed over 2 years ago, I've only been trying to get my sugars under control for around 6/7 weeks. Today I'm really struggling. I've been trying to do a crash diet using diet shakes 2 or 3 times a day plus a bowl of soup or a salad.
My sugar levels came down great at first...
I just wondered if you've been struggling with accepting the diagnosis in the first place. I was diagnosed 2 plus years ago but could not accept it. It just felt that I didn't have it because I did not have any of the main symptoms of thirst / tiredness etc. The thing that really helped me...
Thanks for all your replies. Sorry I haven't been back sooner. Had a really bad headache. Have started trying to cut out carbs and sugar. I was referred to a consultant because I'm getting problems with my eyes. I'm going to have laser treatment next month as water has started building up...
Thanks very much. I'll have a look at Diet Doctor. Yes it is Gliclazide. I haven't started taking them yet. Would prefer to change my diet from right now and see if that helps.
I'm new to this forum. I have been diagnosed a while but yesterday had my first appointment with a specialist at the hospital. I've been given so many drugs I feel like opening my own pharmacy :-(
