    Burn Out

I have been getting lows between 3am and 5am every night/early morning. Has been happening for last few weeks. I'm on Tresiba Degludec (long acting) that I take in the morning, I was on Nova Rapid (fast) but recently changed to Fiasp as it works quicker. Since December 2024 I was put on...

    Zero-carb beer

I like Skinny beers. Some UK supermarkets stock them and often free delivery on Amazon. They do a lager, IPA and fruit cider. The lager is good. I dont like the cider and not tried the IPA yet. Skinny Lager has 3g of carbs per 330ml bottle

Good luck with your dotatate. Are you having it at Guys? I had mine there but am under Kings for the PNET. I live on the south coast so it was quite a treck to get up there, luckily I have my CT scans done locally in Hastings and results are sent to Kings. I thought you had all your pancreas...

    Constant Freestyle L2 failures

Mine usually last 14 days but in the last 6 months I have had 2 FL2 that said 'Sensor Ended' after just one day. I contacted Abbot and they sent me replacements. The replacements seem to arrive much more promptly now.

Any Type 3C people out there?

Our stories sound similar. I had a dotatate scan a month before surgery to see if it had spread. Apart from the pancreas it was in 3 lymph nodes, thats probably why they removed so many. I haven't had a dotatate since then and just have a CT scan with contrast every 6 months at my local...

Any Type 3C people out there?

Hi NellH. I have similar to you. My pancreas was atrophied due to a pancreatic NET. I was refered to Kings in London, a centre of excellence that specialised in NETS. I had surgery 2 years ago. They removed all my pancreas, spleen, duodenum and gall bladder and resected my portal vein due to a...

Any Type 3C people out there?

Hi Jane 1973 I also had a NET in my pancreas. Two hospitals couldn't treat me and said it was not possible to have surgery. I asked to be refered to 'Kings' a Centre of Excellence in London where they have specialists in NETs. Two years ago I had surgery there and am doing pretty well. I am...

Any Type 3C people out there?

Thanks Steve. Interesting Dafne sugests to inject 15 mins before eating. I will try and remember to do that. I think it might help. I was told 1 unit of insulin will lower my BG by 4mml and not to inject on a high (without food) unless over 14. So 1 unit if 14, and 2 units if 18. I do sometimes...

Any Type 3C people out there?

Thanks for your reply Steve. I did this online course. My Type 1 Diabetes Online Courses. It's all I was offered. I would like to do the DAFNE course so I will ask my diabetes team if I can have a link to the OU. I count carbs religiously for every meal, even working them out for things like...

Any Type 3C people out there?

I'm so sorry Nick Ive only just seen your reply - a month late. Unfortunately the DAFNE course is not available where I live unless I travel a long way. I did an online course though that was similar. I also use kitchen scales and weigh absolutely everything at home to work out the carbs. I...

Hi there. I had a full pancreatectomy + spleen removed in April last year. The hardest thing now is trying to keep my blood glucose on track.
