I do on-line legal transcription and a lot of reading to hopefully help keep my mind sharp in my "old" age - 64 is not really old, but some younger people seem to think you're over the hill and dead at that age! Living in a retirement community, as opposed to a nursing home, also helps keep me active. I really love puttering around in my patio veggie garden out back and my flower and herb garden at the front of my duplex, along with oil painting, and learning to do water colors. Even though I'm retired, these things help keep me active, and I enjoy going to see movies and out to eat with my kids. I have two grown daughters in their 40s - one lives about 15 minutes from me and the other lives about 2 hours away. I find this forum interesting for someone like me with Type 2 diabetes, and I just happened to accidentally come across it while on a site for the British TV series "The Food Hospital". Your community seems to be both informative and eager to help one another.
