Re: Discrimination
Hi Osidge, I did think about doing this but in the end decided to just let it go. I made my feelings clear to higher management and could tell they were on the back foot once again.
I am soon to become the equality officer for the GMB aa section so I'm sure I will be...
Re: Discrimination
Just an update one year on. I am still working for the AA but 3 months after my successful court case the manager that I sued was not only not even disciplined he was indeed promoted to area manager of my team, I was even moved out of my team to make way for him. Sounds like...
Hi David without knowing exactly what you do for a living its hard to comment. You are entitled to reasonable adjustments and this can include meal breaks if your covered under the equality act, I don't know for sure if all type 2's are covered maybe someone else with type 2 can answer that. As...

Hi Alex, It depends on what protection you want within your job, if you don't disclose it then I doubt very much that you will be covered by the DDA as your employer wouldn't have been aware of your illness. Good luck to you but...
Re: Discrimination
Thanks everyone. It wasn't easy but I had the best Solicitor and a senior barrister in court. The GMB were brilliant and I am now going to become a rep to help others. Its still sinking in and the AA have not taken it too well, like you said Bob small man beats huge company...
