    Being Diabetic puts you in the "at risk" group for flu, you should get a letter from your doctors giving you an appointment for your jab at one of their flu clinics, at least thats how it works here in Wales.

    I take 3x850mg a day and i find i get indigestion if i overdo it on Carbs, reducing Carb intake seems to lessen the effects.

    My Byetta comes in a pen style injector, but yes a similar principle, i think you would have to take more care in expelling air from your syringe as with my pen i only get the occasional bubble.

    I've done similar, when i checked with the doctor i was told that a bit of air into the subcutaneous layer would not be harmful, all i do now is to make sure there are no big bubbles in my pen and if i do get any clear them out before injecting.     Phone accuchek customer services and ask for some control solution, test you meter with that and it will tell you if its operating within parameters :)

    It does look nasty and being diabetics we are prone to skin infections amongst other things, so dont delay , see your doctor or even a nurse, any infection is bad for a diabetic so dont feel bad about seeking medical advice as soon as you can :)

    Insulin users will need to test far more often than non insulin users and therefore will use more test strips. As the meter companies make loads of money on their test strips they will gladly give their meters away for free, knowing you will be using 4-8 strips or maybe more every day!!
