Thanks it is a thought for the future. Right now I have to put up with recurrent ear infections whilst waiting for a cochlear implant. They are also going to close my ear with a view to stopping infection. It's been a long journey

Thanks for your replies. A wee update, I managed to see a GP and they took advice from diabetic clnic and I've been given Gliclazide 40mg tabs twice a day. Seeing GP again on tuesday. Also got Ketostix to test urine. My BGs have been going up slightly over the last week but just went off scale...

My BG readings have gone off the scale. Type 2 and this has happened before abroad. I had everything thrown at me then but now no chance of seeing GP tomorrow and surgery colosed on Monday. Really don't want to go to A&E. any advice as to how to deal with this please?

Quick update. Saw doc and gave her the figures which show not a great change. I am coming off Gliclazide gradually over 2 weeks and starting Metformin 750 slow release x 2 daily as from today. Bloods to be done this week. Spoke to her re low carbs so hope both these changes bring results. I...

Yes I have a bg moniter and she did warn me about hypos but I've never gone below 13 fasting. I will try and cut out the carbs but will monitor more closely to see results. Thanks
