    Metformin sr Dosage

    Hi I have been having trouble with the standard metformin (violent diarrhoea) on 2000 mg per day (1000am and 1000pm) because of this my doctor has started me on Metformin slow release at a rate of 1000mg in the evening. Is this halving of the dose usual ?
