    Honeymoon Period

Thanks searley, I am testing continuously and will be getting a Libre in the next week or so to avoid DKA so that won't be an issue for me. The diabetes has not gone away and my insulin stuff goes with me and is primed to pounce back into action the minute my levels start to go up a bit. Will...

Covid vaccine and T1D, what are your views?

Well despite my bravado about waiting 6 months and letting others be guinea pigs, as soon as my letter arrived I took the vaccine. Got the delicious AZ/Oxford one. Bit of a sore arm but no other side effects at all. Right. Now that I'm done, can we get the pubs open now? :)

Covid vaccine and T1D, what are your views?

    Type 1 High blood sugars

Yes it will take time. Don't rush it as too rapid a drop can cause neuropathy problems.

In order to progress, you probably have no choice but to start testing your blood glucose levels before and after each meal to see what is keeping you higher than you'd like. You mentioned in another post that you don't want to do this but I don't see what other option you have.

Did any of you type 1s have a virus before you got diabetes?

I had a virus 4 years ago and never felt that my energy levels get back to normal. I lost about 5 stone in weight. My health got worse over those 4 years before completely crashing at the beginning of this month when I was diagnosed with Type 1. I'm pretty sure the virus kicked this all off.
