I use a Garmin 735 along with Libre, MiaoMiao 1 and Xdrip +. There is an Xdrip or Nightscout watchface available on the Garmin store, both are which are good.

MiaoMiao - which is the best app to use?

Spike is the best on iOS, xdrip + or Glimp on Android.

    MiawMiaw vs NightRider (Libre)

Thanks for the replies, it’s great to hear such positive stories about both.. I’ve ordered the MiaoMiao and can’t wait for it to arrive. The Libre alone has been a game changer for me, hopefully the MiaoMiao will help me improve my control further.

    MiawMiaw vs NightRider (Libre)

Hi guys, I currently use the Libre and am interested in either the MiawMiaw or the NightRider in order to be able to view the readings on my iPhone and Garmin watch without swiping. Does anyone know which would be better from a compatibility point of view? Also, whether there is any difference...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Results from the 16/8 were 5.9% or 41 mmol/mol. Happy with that as it’s down from 6.2% in Feb.

    Hi

I would suggest looking into the Keto diet. Carbs need to be around 20-30g per day, roughly 1g protein per 1lb of lean body mass, and the rest from fat. You could also consider intermittent fasting, with or without Keto (with would obviously be preferable).

    Hi

Sorry to hear you’re struggling. What sort of diet are you following? If you haven’t already done so, cutting out carbs will help massively.

How Are You Doing T1s? Life, Thoughts, Bgs, Ups & Downs

Hi, I was diagnosed with T1 at the age of 5 which was 34 years ago! I think acceptance of the condition and realising that you are in control is very important. You control your diabetes, not the other way around. I have never, nor will ever let diabetes dictate what I do in life.... yes it can...

    Fasting

Providing your basel is set correctly you should be able to fast safely. The fact your BG is not stable when missing a meal indicates that you need to look at your basel rates. Bolus calculations/ratios may also need looking at.

T1D normal blood sugars, high ketones

You’re in nutritional ketosis which is the aim of the Keto diet, it’s totally different than DKA and provided your BG’s are in range you should be fine. I find the presence of Ketones is a massive advantage when BG starts to go low. Not only are the lows far less frequent, they also happen...

Really High Cholosterol - 13 - Please Help

Your doctor will more than likely recommend statins and ask about diet and exercise. Please make sure you look at all of the downsides that statins bring before agreeing to take them. There is an overwhelming amount of evidence to suggest they don’t help at all and are in fact very harmful. Yes...

Really High Cholosterol - 13 - Please Help

Are you very active and lean? Do you follow a Keto or very low carb high fat diet? If so this may explain things. http://cholesterolcode.com/hyper-responder-faq/ It’s definitely worth paying for an LDL-P Test so that you get a full breakdown of your lipid panel.

    Freestyle libre

The Libre doesn’t always correlate exactly with a finger test, however your son should be doing a blood test if the Libre indicates that his BG is low. It seems unlikely that his BG is within range if his sensor is reading 44mg/dl, however he really needs to check. Abbot will replace sensors if...

    Would a pump help me?Hi

Yes, it could be a great tool to help you gain better control than you have previously been able to maintain. But, as others have said, it’s a case of you get out of it what you put in. Personally I love the flexibility mine offers, the duel and square bolus‘s are a game changer as are the temp...
