No double figure readings - even after food my highest in the last few weeks has been about 7

I stopped getting high blood sugar symptoms - the usual ! I don't need to go into them ! and all of a sudden this change. No idea my last hba1c was 6.8 in November before that 7.9

Stopped taking Gliclazide about a week ago as I was feeling faint quite often, since stopping this hasn't eased and my levels have been between 3.5 - 4.5 max. What has happened !

Was kindly informed by my Diabetic nurse yesterday that the reason Gliclazide isn't prescribed as much as Metformin is down to cost !. Been put on it now as Metformin causing too many side effects. Does anyone know anything about Gliclazide ?...on 2x80mg a day.

Diagnosed today as T2...start Metformin (is this spelt correctly) on Monday as well as some other pills. Having ECG and more blood tests on Monday...dunno what for though !. Confused to hell about what to eat now ! :evil:
