Thank you. My sister is type 1 and was diagnosed almost exactly a year ago (Jan '08).

I have tried to lose weight, but being on the carbimazole has doubled my weight and no matter how hard I try I can't.

I also have thyroid problems (hyperthyroidism/overactive) and struggle with my weight. I think I have had thyroid problems since 1998, but was not diagnosed until 2003 because I had been wanting a blood test since 2001 just to be refused.
