    Hypoglycaemia reversed

^ above graphs show how I would just sit low. So strange! I have an endocrinology appointment too next month to see what my hormones are up to. I did come up with quite low cortisol last year which I know can have an effect on insulin. Crazy stuff, but i’m getting there [emoji28]

    Hypoglycaemia reversed

currently trying non-dairy and seem to be going a lot better, and will see how my gut is next week and what steps to take next [emoji16] I’ve said it before but I am genuinely fascinated by the effect gut dysbiosis can have on the endocrine system, I lost my period too for months (although that...

    Hypoglycaemia reversed

I am tempted to lower my gluten / lactose intake and see if that helps, I would not be surprised If i’ve developed some intolerances

    Hypoglycaemia reversed

I have been tested again to see how much SIBO I have left and if I need a second round of treatment, annoyingly it is known to be tricky to get rid of so will see how that goes! i’m still struggling with digestive discomfort, stomach pain and fatigue but I am much better, so feeling very...

    Hypoglycaemia reversed

the little peak is my porridge I had for breakfast :)) I used to shoot up to 9, 10 or sometimes even 11 mmol/L very quickly with the exact same portion size and then usually go hypoglycaemic (3 / 2 mmol/L) pretty rapidly following that! Obviously sugar rising quickly is normal with carbohydrates...

    Hypoglycaemia reversed

Even my gut doctor had only ever had one other case of hypoglycaemia in his patients with gut problems and said he couldn’t guarantee mine would reverse after treatment, so I am pretty surprised by how well it has gone! Crazy how it can affect the endocrine system and I think it’s quite unusual...

    Hypoglycaemia reversed

Hi, I took garlic allicin and biocidin capsules. Originally took ParaBotanic Select but it really didn’t agree with me so I switched to the biocidin! Apparently the parabotanic select doesn’t usually cause reactions though and is pretty effective! I did also have to take antacids to let my...

    Hypoglycaemia reversed

Very excited to say that my hypoglycaemia has reversed after treatment for my stomach infections! I can now eat bread, oats, rice, fruit occasional sugary treat ect. I thought this could be useful info incase SIBO is a causing factor for anyone else’s hypoglycaemia. I was originally intolerant...

    Hypoglycaemia update

Hi there, unfortunately I was struggling to get any help from the NHS and had to go private. My endocrinology appointment is not until July. I had been experiencing quite extreme gut pain following what we think was either food poisoning or Norovirus and decided to opt for a functional doctor to...

Hypo update (In treatment for SIBO / Blastocystis)

The spike on the green graph here with my glucose at 4.5 is how I originally reacted to brown rice, quite possibly a smaller portion than what I had in the above graphs

Hypo update (In treatment for SIBO / Blastocystis)

Curves for carbs!! Originally would have been tall spikes that would then plummet me into scary hypos! We think we have eradicated about half of the SIBO (there was quite a high volume) through antibiotic treatment and I am reacting to carbohydrates differently. Clearly the SIBO was causing some...

    Feeling low BS on waking

If it’s any consolation I also wake in a similar way and don’t really function very well before eating, but my blood sugar usually isn’t low whilst I feel like this (4-5, more often 5). For me It’s definitely more dramatic in the winter, and i’m more hungry!
