I am sure that it is a safety issue. Sure it stinks having a frozen foot, but what if something fell on it? Your employer could be liable. Does your employer reimburse you for the cost of the boots?
I think that it is more likely to get diabetes when older if it runs in your family. I don't think that having gestation diabetes will make them more susceptible. However, I am not a doctor, so you might want to ask either your pediatrician or you OB/GYN.
Just know that it won't last forever. You are doing this to help your baby and eventually you will be able to go back to what you considered normal. It is hard, but it won't be forever.
Thank you for posting this information. It is so difficult to try and maneuver through all the terminology when they are using acronyms. I am trying to find out more info because a family member is going through just getting diagnosed.
