Have been diabetic from age of 3 (1960) and am well looked after by Dr O'Hare and his team at Rugby St. Cross Hospital with trips for eye checks to University Hospital Coventry, Walsgrave. So far have had three lots of laser eye treatment but that was over five years ago. My weight is a real problem - Slimming World helped. I don't really think about being diabetic, I just do the tests and respond accordingly with the insulin levels (basal bolus) as I've never known what it's like to NOT be diabetic. Gets me down a bit when I get an infection or virus as the balance flies around all over the place but I'm generally fit and healthy
