    Energy "pick me ups"

I'm not active at all. Office job. I have a high metabolism and always have. It's a very high intake I know and as I approach 30 this month I'm only just starting to get a slight rounder stomach area (dad bod). I'm 6foot4 I'm 89kg

    My Experience

Thanks! I have a good support network around me. But there are still days I struggle with the depth of it all (even with these amazing people around me). Couple weekends ago I went to a Diabetes UK organised "away day" where a bunch of T1 got together in Leeds. It was fantastic. Was really...

    Energy "pick me ups"

I've been looking at snacks like crackling, nuts and small tubs of fruit (under the threshold of needing to inject) but none have given me the boost of pre-D sugar snacks. Maybe nothing ever will. The Graze boxes look interesting, tried some a while back. May have to get back into them. Thanks!

Also, the answers in question in regards to energy-boosting snacks. I am appreciating the feedback. One thing to add, I know I can still snack and inject for it, but this doesn't give me the boost I tend to be looking for. Short term I think im going to turn to the diet fizzy drinks and see if...

    Energy "pick me ups"

with T1 and T2 being SO different from one another I do wonder why they have the same name. I know "back in the day" it was considered the same condition, but now we know better. Isn;t it time we separated these conditions? I know it'd likely prevent the ignorance in the general public I have...

    Energy "pick me ups"

Is low-carb advised for all diabetics? Or is this a Type 2 over Type 1 thing? I eat about 3500-4000 calories a day and my evening meal is usually 200-300g of carbs. The concept of cutting out carbs feels like madness. A massively expensive crazy idea.

I need to re-educate by bias against diet fizzy drinks then it seems. Thanks! I always used to go for the "full fat" fizzy pre-diabetes.

    Stubborn hypos

Sorry to hear you're going through that :( I too suffer from nocturnal hypos. More than I do in the day time at least. The "hypo hangovers" the next morning are awful, it takes hours to feel "right" again. I have managed to narrow them down to a few reasons (for me): - Not eating a proper...

    Energy "pick me ups"

Hey all! Me at pre-diabetes (Type 1), I had a sweet tooth. From early childhood through to 29 years old I ate and drank sugar like no other. Yet somehow I am still a decent average build (slight dad-bod on the tummy area now though) and generally always been quite healthy (excluding the...

    My Experience

Thanks guys (apologies for the slow reply - been a hectic few weeks). Yeah, it feels good to talk about experiences. It's been super reassuring reading often that other people are going through the same stuff I am though!

    My Experience

I guess mainly because if I am going to be interacting with other diabetics in the forum T1 & T2 it'd be good to know the difference. I don't know which is easier, harder, what the differences are or even why they have the same name when clearly they are very different. Before my diagnosis my...

    Garlic?

A Type 1 food question. A couple of weeks ago I went through a phase of about 4 days where my insulin/carb ratio was clearly too much. Kept dropping into a hypo after each meal (or trying to, I kept pulling it back up with sweets and flapjack). I typically am 1 unit per 20g of carbs, but these...

I hope they bring out an app, I'd prefer that to mobile web.

Hi Juicyj, thanks! Thanks for the links too. I will find a time this weekend to go through them. :)
