    Test Results

Hi all, Had a fasting glucose test Monday, just spoke to the surgery and all is normal so I'm guessing I'm not prediabetic or diabetic at all, which I'm thankful for but now it's back for my appointment tomorrow to see what it may be. Difficult because all of the stuff that's been going on with...

    Blood results

Morning all :) Just a quick one for you...I'm having the fasting test done tomorrow and just wondering how long,on average, results take to come back? Obviously each GP and health trust is different but wondering if it's fairly quick? Sorry, just impatient about finding out what's wrong with...

    Blood Sugar Readings

Thank you for that...ah ok so I guess a non diabetic could have high numbers now and again but not be pre or diabetic?

    Blood Sugar Readings

Morning all, What should a normal blood sugar reading be 2 hours after eating for a non-diabetic? If your reading is 5.4 when you get up, then is 6.4 90mins after eating, that's perfectly normal, right? Also would a non-diabetic be testing 8.1 and 9.9 two hours after eating, regardless of what...

Yes I just feel so all over the place at the moment and I'm very tearful (hence 3 prep tests but all negative and no other signs)... Even if I'm not diabetic I'm obviously hating carbs because they make me feel awful so time to cut them out... That can't be that much of a bad thing :)

Hi :) Yes I have a fasting blood test Monday then a double appointment with the GP for swabs etc and she wants a diary of my symptoms for the week, but I guess I've been ignoring it all for so long due to various factors that now I'm scared of what is wrong and if I've done damage by delaying a...

Sorry forgot to add... I started noticing that after eating bread / pasta etc I felt very nauseous and generally awful so stopped eating proper bread and cut down pasta to once a week, as I thought maybe my body just hates gluten. I've also done three pregnancy tests last few weeks due to the...

Hi :) I have been feeling what I call ropey for 2-3 months but due to my job and lifestyle (long hours, long commute and two kids) I kind of just powered through it all then put it down to stress / tiredness etc. But I've just had a month of as training for another job, and haven't had that...

Yes cutting carbs is always good for the soul and body :) I was stupidly tempted to buy a blood sugar monitor today but then thought what's the point as a) waste of time if it turns out I'm not diabetic but something else and b) I don't know what it means anyway, just almost did it out of...

Think I will start doing this... The soup was a fresh one from tesco with lentils and tomatoes... I'm just scared because I don't know what to do...I've never had my blood sugar tested, I don't know what the urine test results yesterday were as I didn't ask, so I'm just in this weird limbo but...

Hi Bluetit, I've been trying to cut right down on carbs, especially bread as it has been making me feel nauseous at times so try and keep it to a minimum, I've never thought about carbs in yogurts, always just associate them with dairy. I am thinking of a food diary so yes will start that...

Hi there, I posted yesterday about a fasting glucose test I have on Monday, Dr and me both suspect diabetes, but I've been feeling really rotten last few days and it's getting worse...GP has got me to do a diary of my symptoms. However, I'm wondering why I keep feeling awful after eating, for...

Thanks for all your info, I will make sure I'm prepared for the tests...I have a double appointment with the GP a few days after the test so hopefully get to the bottom of what's going on...goes to show you can't rely on a dip test for everything! :)

T Thank you for that, I feel that if I was diagnosed I'd at least have an answer as to why I've been feeling so awful for so long, but at the same time worried how I would deal with the changes. I have suspected this for a while but I'm trying not to wind myself up about it in case it's not...
