I’m getting this with Lantus, it hurts when I inject it and I end up with a lump which itches and turns into a bruise, I was only diagnosed in January so I have no comparison all I know is I never have this issue with my Novorapid but I obviously inject much smaller amounts of that at any one go.
When I was diagnosed in January it was through DKA and I had a psychologist come to my bedside and talk to me, asking me if I truly understood what happened and what the future holds etc etc I’m not sure if this is normal practice or because of the way I was diagnosed? But I was offered to speak...
I get this problem in the bath or shower, I asked the doctor whether it could be the hot water because every time I will hypo. The doctor said that heat cannot affect my blood sugars [emoji848]
Are you kidding? Type 1 do not get everything given to them as you so kindly put. Not all type ones get Libre funded and the ones who do get it because if can save our lives whether it’s going into DKA or slipping into a coma when we sleep from low blood sugar. It’s offensive you would even say...
I have just been referred by my nurse to get it on prescription, she said I should have it by the end of March. I have read on here it seems to depend on the area you live whether you are offered it or not
I’m on fixed doses at the moment of Lantus and novorapid, my diabetic nurse is trying to get me on a carb counting course as I keep having hypos, I reduced my Lantus from 16 to 12 on her request a few days ago but am still suffering the hypos.
I was just scared to take the insulin with such...
This might be a stupid question but I was only diagnosed a month ago so still new to all this, if my blood sugars are low or going low just before I sit down to eat a meal do I still take my insulin? I just went to have my dinner and my blood sugar was 4.1 so I didn’t take my insulin but I don’t...
Hi, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at 19, I’m now 34 and was diagnosed with type 1 on New Year’s Day. Unfortunately diabetes and hypothyroidism can go hand in hand they are both auto immune conditions where your immune system attacks your body. Hypothyroidism can be fixed really easily with...
I had it two weeks ago, I had the first vaccination two weeks prior, I just had a headache for a day and was a bit more tired and achy, I’ve had worse colds to be honest, my keystones and blood were fine throughout
I understand that completely, this past week anything new and I’m freaking out thinking it’s something horrendous I’m going to have to deal with, I’m starting to realise that I will still be able to lead a normal life just with a few extra duties [emoji85] but yeah this place is amazing! There’s...
Thank you I appreciate it, just tested positive for Covid so currently trying to get my head around the sick day rules [emoji85] I’m going to need a holiday after all this
I was diagnosed last week with type 1 was only released from hospital a few days ago from having DKA and my little one has just tested positive with Covid [emoji31] my diabetic nurse has told me to check my levels every 2 hours and check for ketones, wasnt given too much info about sick day...
