my Thai partner is 4 months pregnant and during a visit to the clinic they found she had very high blood glucose readings, her mother and sister both died young due to diabetes complications so im sure my partner had diabetes before she became pregnant, after visiting quite a few Thai hospitals and clinics, which after visiting I can understand why so many Thai people die young, we opted for an international private hospital, although much better I still came away thinking how much we take the NHS for granted,
After a few days her readings were getting lower and lower until one evening it was below 4 and she felt a bit dizzy, I told her not to take her insulin, which she had already loaded into the syringe and looked on the net for some advice when I came across this site, thank god I did, there is no advice about diabetes, diet, exercise or even taking insulin from hospitals, you have to buy everything, needles, insulin, blood glucose monitor all of which are not cheap, luckily I can afford it, most Thai people cant so go without just hoping Buddha will help them. were still confused but feeling more reassured knowing there is advice on this site
