I was diagnosed as having Type 2 in December 2010, got some dietary advice from the GP's nurse and had a retinopathy test. Since then I've heard nothing but have arranged for a blood sugar test this Wednesday and decided I must be serious bout my diabetes.

I was 66 at diagnosis in December 2010. In a way it was a relief to know something certain as I and the phlebotomist were almost on friendly terms, and my arms looking fleabitten from testmarks.

I can't comment on memory loss perhaps due to my Diabetes Class 2 yet as I was only advised of this condition in December 2010 so haven't had time to really see if there has been a deterioration over and above that which arises from the Atorvastatin I taken...
I have recently been diagnosed with Diabetes Class 2. I was assured by my GP's surgery there was a support group in my area but given no details. Can a member of the forum advise me if such a group exists and how to contact them.
