@tim2000s, @paulliljeros. That kinda lines up with my (uneducated) thoughts. I my mind I likened it to suffocation except the brain is being deprived of BG instead of oxygen. I suppose I was hoping I might be wrong.

I was pretty sure that was the case. However, it's not known how long, prior to being found, the overdose was administered. I suppose my question really is what would be the long term effects of prolonged severe low BG?

I wasn't sure where to ask about this; I hope you'll forgive me if this is the wrong place. A few days ago, a friend of a friend was found unconscious and the emergency services were called. The police found an empty insulin vial. It seems that the medics found 'practically no' Blood Glucose...

I couldn't say. The box just says Metformin 500mg. I started on them the same way you describe. And I've now been taking 'em for nearly 2 months and the results are still "explosive". :eek:

I've been insulin dependent for nearly 25 years and have been having trouble of late with my blood sugar control. My diabetic specialist has put me on metformin to help get some control back, and I have to say that it is working (yay). My question is, how long do I have to keep taking it...
