Hello,
I need some advice.
Back in 2022, I had a blood test at my GP's and the HbA1c was 41 (5.8%)
My GP said I was close to pre-diabetes level so he asked me to adjust my diet a bit.
What I notice is that my blood in the morning is always between 5.4 and 6.2%, depending how late and how much I...
Good morning,
I have some questions concerning my situation.
My GP believes that I'm at risk of developing diabetes because of my HbA1c result more than a year ago (5.8%, 40mmol/mol). Because of this, I modified my diet a bit, and the most recent HbA1c result at the end of August 2023 was 5.4%...
Thank you for such a detailed explanation.
I think my values show that I don't have type 2 diabetes but I am sort of borderline case between normal values and prediabetes?
My waist-hip ratio is 0.93. I'm 175 cm and my current weight is about 81/82 kg. During the lockdown, my weight reached more...
The Hb1Ac levels are normal and constantly dropping. My fasting (lab) levels have always been below 5.6 mmol/L. However, when I take some tests myself at home, I notice some higher levels in the morning after waking up, sometimes 5.7 or 5.8. Levels are usually lower during the day (fasting)...
Thank you for this. I was very worried about the ketones level, as the normal levels are up to 5 mg/dl. I thought my level could be dangerous . I was the one deciding on getting a OGTT. My UK GP advised to repeat the HbA1c only. Should I disregard the OGTT result? If I look at my HbA1c result...
I can say I was careful with carbs only the day before. Bread, rice, fruit, yogurt were included in my diet in the three days before my OGTT. I don't think I reached 150 g a day though, no. It was fairly low carb. I've read this leads to false positive cases. Do you think I have diabetes then?
Good afternoon,
A couple of years ago, my doctor prescribed some blood tests. The outcome of the HbA1c was 41 mmol/mol (5.9%), just below the pre-diabetes level. It was strange because my glucose levels had always been fine.
Following the outcome of the blood test, I kept getting tested with...
Doesn't diabetes start from 7 mmol/l when fasting?
That is what confuses me. My GP told me that above 5.6 it's already pre-diabetes, and 7 is diabetes and told me I am too close to prediabetes values.
I've significantly reduced sugar. Can food like walnuts or almonds help? I l have started eating them because I read they can be beneficial to reduce glucose in the blood. I have stopped eating things like grapes.
I eat only natural yogurt with low sugar and rarely eat anything sweet. I used to...
As to glucose (fasting and not fasting), I use mmol/l (standard unit in the UK). For H
bA1c, it's also mmol/ml. It was the GP telling me that my HbAc1 was basically prediabetes. My last (lab, not home test) for glucose gave 5.7 (fasting).
Hi Kenny,
Thank you such a detailed explanation.
The problem is that I don't really have a lot of records about A1c testing.
The first record I have goes back to 2020. My A1c testing was 40. In September 2022 was 41.
I have more information about glucose (fasting) as glucose was included in...
Thank you for your reply.
I knew what the dawn phenomeno was. H
It's because of this problem came up in just a few months.
Glucose readings had always been fine. I started doing exercise and losing weights at least 6/8 months ago because I wanted to reduce my cholesterol and fatty liver.
