    Falling down hole of diagnosis

Thanks for that. Just ordered more strips and will keep careful very careful log of everything. Did wonder about reuse of lancets, if retesting so quickly. That confirms OK. Will get alcohol or meths to clean finger every time to ensure very clean and no sugar traces too. I have always suffered...

    Falling down hole of diagnosis

That helps A LOT, Lamont D. Thank you. I would LOVE to know who your endocrinologist is, please DO PM me. I got a bit bogged down on reviews of glucose meters - all of which seem a bit dodgy, so just oredered the Codefree as recommended here. On grounds of what is the point of asking for advise...

    Falling down hole of diagnosis

Thanks, Catapillar. Suspected I might need regular meter as well, so that confirms I should start with that and hope it picks up something if there is something to pick up. Useful to know hba1c not likely to be helpful. I have had acute hypo attacks all my life so there is no missing one...

    Falling down hole of diagnosis

Tried my own wee experiment before any meters: took several ( a lot of) teaspoons of glucose powder. That checked shaking, but as shaking randomly lessens not a controlled experiment. Falling down hole of diagnosis

Thanks for suggestion to get the results. Didn't occur to me! I will ring surgery. I have a file of other test results, I normally ask for them but the doctor was so dismissive of relevancy to anything that I went along with it. Until I started thinking. Testing has been a bit random and cursory...

    Falling down hole of diagnosis

Thank you SO much for responses. So much to learn before doctor's appointment. I would very much like to test myself before then. Have no idea what test I had. They weren't looking for diabetes per se. And I think the test I had last week was a repeat of the same thing (a couple of months after...

    Falling down hole of diagnosis

Hello everyone. So as this doesn't turn into massively long and over involved tale of woe, I will try and be as brief as possible: I have been seriously unwell for two years, undiagnosed and bumped all over the place because of it. My doctor recently flagged up an 'unrelated' pre-diabetic test...
